For Immediate Release:

April 10, 2010

The National Organization of Short Statured Adults (NOSSA) would like to offer its sympathies to the family of Jon Carmichael of Joshua, Texas. as well as ask the people in charge at his school why his continuous bullying went unnoticed for such a long time, which would eventually lead to him taking his own life at the age of thirteen on March 28th,  2010.

Jon Carmichael was a smaller, teenage boy who was repeatedly and mercilessly bullied by his classmates and  according to a friend, was targeted because of his lack of size, (something NOSSA was formed to combat) as well as other forms of discrimination based on height.

NOSSA hopes that this case will result in the opening of eyes across the country as to how prevalent this form of bullying is and that much more aggressive steps need to be taken to prevent it.
